Winter is Over

The temperature in the Busan region reached 16.3 degrees Celsius in the afternoon of February 19. It was also the start of Woo Soo (the first rainfall of the year), the beginning of spring wind and the last day of the New Year's holiday. The Busan, Ulsan and Kyung Nam regions, including Jinju, hit 14.8 degrees, Tong Young had 14.5 and Ulsan faced 15.2 degrees and experienced maximum daily temperatures that are more like the average temperatures at the end of March. Therefore, is the cold season over now?
Referring to the weather conditions, the Busan regional meteorological office stated on February 20, "Around this weekend, Busan's minimum temperature will drop to zero degrees Celsius in the morning, but no more cold weather would affect the area."
The Kyung Nam regions, including Busan, will have some rainy days starting from February 22 due to the atmospheric pressure causing clouds and it will clear up from the afternoon of February 23. With the beginning of rain, temporary cold weather will arrive with minimum temperatures on Saturday morning, February 24, of one degree Celsius and dropping to zero on Sunday, February 25.
However, it is expected that the entire Korean peninsula would have warmer weather than usual starting from next week to the second half of March.
First of all, Busan will usually have fine days due to weakening of cold continental pressure until the first half of March. Regular effects of the continental high pressure and migratory anticyclone may cause large changes in temperature, but in general, the weather will be similar to other years.
Officials at the meteorological office said, "Considering seasonal trends of entering spring already, there would be no further cold weather or changes in the temperature."
