Domestic Mobile Communication Producers at 3GSM World

Domestic electronics and mobile telecommunication operators waged fierce competition at the 12th Annual 3GSM World Congress held in Barcelona, Spain.
In the Third Generation for All Project where 12 worldwide telecommunication providers have settled for co-purchasing mobile phone terminal projects, LG Electronics Inc. has been chosen as the mobile phone terminal provider with the latest third-generation technology. However, Samsung Electronics is cynical about the result.
A source from Samsung Electronics stated, “We have not participated in the bid because of low priced bids. We worry that the business will be worse as long as the terminals sell, being caught in a vicious circle.”
Regarding the devaluation from Samsung, LG responded, “No businessman conducts a business that does not produce profit. This is a good chance to be able to dominate the third generation mobile phone market hereafter.”
According to a source from LG, third-generation mobile phones are able to access the Internet at high speeds, allowing users to download e-mail and exchange instant messages while talking on the phone.
