44% Specially Selected at PNU

The opening of an Oriental medical science postgraduate college at Pusan National University in 2008 creates anticipation as the first such program and announced the confirmed standard on February 8.
According to the entry standard, 44 percent of special applications aimed at interest in creating a professional postgraduate program centering on investigation and development of life science, and education for human power. The entrance quota is fifty persons. Among those, 28 submitted general applications 22 entered through a special screening. Seventeen applicants were placed as a "self-promoting" that were selected as excellent investigation human resources who attained various qualifications and SCI(E) essay announcement certificates like doctor, dentist, oriental doctor and others. Five were chosen as "Postgraduate scholastic blue chip in the natural world field (life science world)."
For postgraduates, the general and special applications are limited to persons who achieved a bachelor's degree at a domestic or foreign university without reason for disqualification as a medical person, followed by medical regulations, official records of all units of the Oriental Medical Education Entry Test (OMEET) that is conducted every year, and attained over the second level in the nationally authorized Chinese qualification examination. OMEET will be operated with the same standard of subjects and degree of difficulty as the Medical Education Entry Test (MEET). PNU carefully examined an analysis of Chinese language ability for OMEET, but to lift some burden from student shoulders, the existing Chinese ability test formed by authorized organizations will be used for some time. Instead of some benefits, an improvement plan has been set in a source book to develop decoding skills through opening of a Chinese course, or special courses, during summer and winter vacations after admission.
In the case of general applicants, the average score on evaluations should reach over eighty points throughout the class years, without considering background faculties and majors, and should attain scores above the standard limit in an examination of English ability. With those conditions, a person who achieved 24 school grades over four areas in major subjects can apply for the course.
Screening elements and mark distribution should be selected during the two-step evaluation method. Select double numbers of people with profile screening will be done at the first step. Successful final candidates will be chosen within the entrance quota through an in-depth interview at the second step. At the first general profile application, OMEET records count for sixty percent, records at university, English ability and profile analysis come count twenty percent and the second in-depth interview also counts for twenty percent.
This year's OMEET will be held in the middle of August through a public announcement in May and postgraduate entry forms should be filed around October.
