Warm Weather Continues in Busan

The cyclic phenomenon of three cold days and four warm days in winter has disappeared because of abnormally high temperatures. The Busan region is having the warmest January in ten years.

According to the Busan regional meteorological office on January 24, the average daily temperature is eight to nine degrees Celsius from January 1 to January 5 and dropping to two to four degrees from January 15 to January 22. The temperature went up to five to eight degrees, increasing the narrow range.

There were some standard differences, but the region is spending this wintertime without much cold air. Temperature statement of winter has changed, which used to have repeated fierce chilliness with a duration of three to four days.

Checking the current weather trend, this January in the Busan region seems like having the maximum temperature compared to the past ten years¡¯ periodic weather conditions. Currently, January temperatures in the city have reached 5.4 degrees Celsius on a daily basis and on January 23 it was 6.7 in 1997 recording the top figure.

From 1971 to 2000 temperatures in the entire area around Busan have been about 3.0 degrees in January, but this January is completely unique.
Among the others, this January has never had below zero temperatures during the day. Last year had three days and 2005 had ten days below zero.

Officials at the meteorological office stated, ¡°The cold continental high atmospheric pressure has been weakened due to the El Nino phenomenon. However, it is expected to influence weather conditions next week as the temperature will greatly fall."
