Bizarre Japanese Murder Cases
Case 1 - One’s blood brother killed his own university student sister. He then cut her body into pieces, put the parts into four vinyl bags and kept them in a closet and cabinet.
Case 2 - A man in his seventies hit his wife with a blunt weapon several times after fighting over their bank balance.
Case 3 - An employed man in his forties murdered a nine year old elementary student by throwing the child out of an apartment on the fifteenth floor. Nine days later, he attempted to kill a cleaning lady at the building, lured her to the fourteenth floor and ended in the attempt.
Like stories from a bizarre novel, but the incidents are all true murder cases which have recently occurred day after day in Japan. Young Japanese are educated at home with the philosophy ‘Do not disturb other people’s life.’ So now, Japanese people, well known for their kindness, are astonished.
Strange enough, Japanese TV presents entertainment news and also deals with news on murder cases. If TV shows one’s favorite entertainers, they cheer like children and hang their heads whenever they hear the terrible murderous actions.
What if the cruelty of these cases and Japanese loss of humanity have something to do with each other?
A professor at Kyushu University said about causes of heinous crimes within the country, “With an increase of people in the low income bracket living through economic difficulties due to social polarity and burdens of taking heavy responsibility to look after one’s parents, younger generations exhibit a phenomenon called "Ki-re-ya-seu-ee" (meaning go crazy without particular reasons) that is spreading like a fad.”
A novelist analyzed, “It has something to do with Japan being out of war for over sixty years and about the idea that death may became dull.”
If the country cannot take the responsibility of a particular person’s wrong action that is due either to a sense of loss or madness, then right now, somewhere in the nation, murder schemes are continuing.
