Busan Reform Plan at the Beginning of the Year to Bear Fruit

It is said that a plan for the day is made in the morning and a goal for the year is made on the first day of the new year. Therefore, it is a matter of course that Busan City has set its goals for this year, focusing on revitalizing the local economy and improving civil welfare. Apart from establishing the foundation of the local economy, Busan intends to maintain and develop the balance of the economy and welfare by creating healthy and happy welfare, and this is drawing attention. The city that is aiming to be an international city has made an appropriate decision.
The city is arranging the early development of free economic zones and expanding industrial sites for the revitalization of the local economy. In other words, they are ready to put effort into this area as far as the local economy gets hard. In particular, a concept to create a Busan Economic Association by combining various separate business support institutions is what brings out expectations, along with the slogan "Busan, good for business." It will establish a one-stop support system by organizing all the business support institutions that are currently divided into more than eight independent organizations, including the support center for small and medium enterprises, into one unit. We anticipate a synergy effect caused by unification.
Beyond economic features, a plan to open an eco-center at the estuary of the Nakdong River for developing an ecological city should be embraced from the aspect of establishing a city environment that blends with nature. It is viewed that the declared expansion of the cultural infrastructure such as the National Library of Busan, Busan Arts Center, Busan National Center for Korean Traditional Performing Arts, and Busan Pictures Center will be an opportunity to drastically relieve the cultural thirst of the citizens.
Anyone can make plans. The matter is how the necessary economic resources can be provided, despite the difficult economic situation. It should not rely too much on support from the central government. Improving the ability to attract domestic and foreign capital is required. In order to do so, a strategy is needed that promotes the city brand by making practical application of the construction of an airport in the southern district and the redevelopment business of North Port. Actions speak louder than plans.
