Lee Seung-yeop, Highest-paid Baseball Player in Japan

Korean baseball slugger Lee Seung-yeop concluded a final contract with his team, the Yomiuri Giants. According to a source, he has a long-term contract with a total of 3 billion yen (more than 30 billion won) for four years. He will be the highest-paid baseball player in Japan next year.
According to the Japanese sports daily, Sankei Sports, yesterday, Korean-Japanese baseball player Kanemoto (Hanshin Tigers, 38) contracted with Hanshin for 2 billion yen (more than 20 billion won) for three years. The sports daily also reported that the latest deal made Lee's annual salary worth more than 700 million yen next year, and he will become the second-highest salaried baseball player in Japanese baseball history.
The newspaper added that Kanemoto will be paid 500 million yen annually plus options next year. According to Japanese baseball records, Roberto (Yomiuri Giants) was paid 720 million yen as the highest paid baseball player so far, followed by Lee (700 million yen).
