International Transport & Logistics Fair 2006 at BEXCO

The UN ESCAP Ministerial Conference was attended by 62 transportation ministers from UNESCAP member countries and international authorities. It was held at Busan BEXCO and Nurimaru APEC House.

The six-day conference was launched in the BEXCO Convention Hall on the third floor with Busan Mayor Hur Nam Sik, ESCAP Secretary General, and officials from 62 ESCAP member countries.

During the SOM conference, officials discussed transportation infrastructure for the pan-Asian region. Mayor Hur addressed the welcoming ceremony, and his opening address was followed by Kim Hak-Su, Under Secretary General of the United Nations and Executive Secretary of UNESCAP.

A variety of transportation and high-speed railroad construction-related topics will be discussed during the conference. In particular, China, Russia and 28 other countries will make an agreement for railroad volume, railroad standards and transportation security in the Asia-Pacific region.
