Fifth World Korean Business Convention to be held at BEXCO




It is on the corner that the festival of the Fifth World Korean Business Convention will begin from Oct. 20 at BEXCO. According to BEXCO, more than 1,100 Korean businessmen from 40 countries will participate. An official of BEXCO said the volume of this convention is growing as time goes on. There were 690 world businessmen who participated last year.

According to an official of Busan City, it is expecting that there will be a total of 2,300 domestic and world Korean businessmen and government officials who will participate in the convention. He said that through the convention it is possible to foster business networks among Korean businessmen in global business sectors.

It is also expected that the Busan International Footwear & Textile Fashion Week for 2006 (BIFOT 2006) will be greatly influenced by the Fifth World Korean Business Convention to be held during the same period.

The theme of the convention is ¡®food¡¯. More than 290 domestic food companies will join and make international business network connections with world Korean businessmen. According to the convention source, there will be other business sectors such as telecommunications, electricity, electronics, beauty, tourism, and others.

During the convention, there will be a variety of seminars introducing successful entrance cases into overseas markets by domestic food companies. On the last day of the convention, there will be a luncheon entitled ¡®Special Busan Food¡¯. During the luncheon, famous Busan foods will be displayed and served to the participating businessmen. More importantly, during the session, one to one business meetings are available regarding imports and exports.

A source from Busan City said, ¡°It will be limited for non-registered businessmen to enter the conventions except for two exhibition halls in BEXCO."
