Children's Transportation Card to be Issued Next Month

Busan Metropolitan City will provide juvenile transportation cards from October 1. They will offer free transfer between local buses and will regularly operate starting October 10.

A juvenile transportation card needs some basic information including social security number, name of school, grade and others. They can be obtained through the home pages of the Busan Transportation Corporation, the Busan Bus Transportation Association or Myb, which are the central operating bodies for users of the Hanaro card with a real-name registration card. The card will be sent by post from the card company.

The card will contain the term of validity for children aged six to under thirteen, the target ages for cards. They will be automatically converted to a teenager¡¯s card when the juvenile period expires.

The exclusive juvenile transportation card will receive a 50 won discount on a 300 won fare that is paid with cash on local buses and one free transfer is possible. Moreover, the card offers a ten percent discount when the price for the first section costs 550 won and the second section costs 650 won resulting in 495 won and 585 won, respectively.

Various types of cards will be available, like an ordinary card, necklace, bracelet, cell phone ring and others. The general card will cost 2,000 won and the others will be sold at 6,000 won.
