Job Fair at BEXCO from September 20 to 22

The biggest job fair will be held at BEXCO from tomorrow. Over 400 companies will participate to interview and employ over 2,880 new workers.

Busan Metropolitan City yesterday revealed that this job fair is entitled ¡®The Third Pan-Busan Regional Job Fair¡¯ and local companies from Busan, Yangsan, and Gimhae cities will be hiring over 2,800 employees.

According to a source from the city, most major companies of electricity, electronics, IT, shipbuilding, machinery, automobile parts, steel, trade, hotels, discount stores, and services will join the fair, which is co-hosted by Busan City and the Busan branch office of the Ministry of Labor.

The source added that Hanjin Heavy Industry, Samsung Electronics, Lotte Shopping, Mega Mart, Paradise Hotel Busan and 230 other companies will directly interview applicants in their booths. The others will offer employment by way of posting job opportunities at BEXCO.

In particular, some companies stated that they will hire females, the disabled, and the elderly as well. Samsung will employ 10 disabled persons for production positions and other companies also plan to hire them for various positions.

Interestingly, there is also an Online Job Fair hiring through the internet. Those who are interested can access www.Busanjobfair.com. Busan City announced that there are a variety of events such as a female job festival, a hands-on experience program at workplaces, and resume and interview clinics.

A Busan official said, ¡°We expect over 20,000 job seekers will be there, and at least 1,000 will be hired on the spot.¡±
