Munhyun Finance Complex Likely to be Cancelled
Plans for the Munhyun Finance Complex may be reviewed. A source from Busan City said it had strived to establish a financial Mecca, but it failed to draw the response anticipated. Therefore, the city is now considering reviewing the plan again and finding a rational alternative.
An expert advises that in order to promote a financial complex, it is necessary to make a special juridical corporation as a paper company for the purpose of financing the project, but now there are no proper financial companies that are interested.
Financial institutions that planned to enter the complex asked Busan regarding benefits and stability of the project at a task force team conference by suggesting a business analysis. Busan City plans to hold its task force team conference at the end of this month to draw an agreement among the financial institutions.
A staff member of one financial institution that plans to establish its office at the complex said, “Without a blueprint about the complex, it is hard to make an agreement among the investors and financial institutions. It is very limited to join aggressively, but if we see there will be benefits after investment, we will aggressively join the Munhyun Finance Complex project.”
Nine of the task force team members recently returned from Tokyo and Osaka after visiting there to study similar cases in Japan. An official of Busan City said, “I think it is better to develop the finance complex with cultural facilities and a residential area.”
