Prospect of Ocean Era, Ceremony for Ocean Day
Ahead of the 11th Ocean Day, a wide range of events was held around Busan harbor. Staff from the Busan Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Busan Harbor Authority and other civic groups got together to hold the event at 10:00 a.m., joined by over 1,000 citizens who participated in the event.
이날 참석자들은 미래 성장 동력이 될 바다와 해양산업의 중요성을 감안, 건강한 해양환경을 조성해 미래세대에게 물려주기 위해 노력하는 한편 부산을 해양수도와 동북아 물류 허브(중심) 항만으로 발전시킬 것을 다짐했다. 이어 '부산항 사랑 시민 승선투어'가 마련돼 시민들은 성희호와 해경 경비정 등 9척의 선박에 나눠 타고 국제여객터미널~오륙도~광안대교 구간을 왕복 운항하며 해상 퍼레이드를 펼치는 한편 북항에서 선보인 보트 및 수상오토바이 묘기,헬기 축하비행,소방정 물대포 쏘기,해양 퀴즈대회 등 다양한 부대행사를 즐겼다.
Since the Ocean Day is May 31, the same as the day for local elections, Prime Minister Han Myong-sook and other government officials, including fishery-related people, will attend the ceremony to be held at COEX in Seoul.
