Busan Job Market Down

It is expected that there will be a drop in the number of major local companies recruiting new employees. According to personnel officials, it is surveyed that they do not consider any special employment nor give special chances for those who graduated from local universities.
On March 29, Internet employment portal site Job Busan stated that it surveyed over 50 local companies who employ over 200 people regarding new employment plans for the next year. It shows 82% of the surveyed companies replied positively on new job opportunities for the next year.
Job Busan says the percent is a little lower compared to last year. The survey shows that 18% of the responders said there is no plan to recruit new employees for the next year. With regard to the scope of employment, only 38% replied that employment numbers for the next year will be identical, and 22% replied employment would be down compared to last year.
Only 4% said they would hire more during the next year. The survey states 41 companies that decided to recruit new employees this year said they will hire 310 new employees in 2006.
Regarding the question ¡°Will local gradates be preferred?¡± 64% of them replied, ¡°Regardless of local advantages, we will recruit qualified employees.¡± Whereas 36% said, ¡°We advance local graduates.¡± The survey added there were no companies that discriminate against local graduates.
