Unemployment Rate Down 4.7% for Young Adults

The unemployment rate of young adults is a major social issue, and it is estimated that the rate for those in their twenties is dramatically down. Contrary to expectations that the employment climate would continue, the total unemployment rate in February was a little lower rather than January, as well.
According to the ¡®Employment Trend in February¡¯ released by the Office of Statistics, the unemployment rate for young adults in their twenties recorded 4.1% in February, 0.2% down compared to the same month last year.
The report indicates that, contrary to a phenomenon that the overall unemployment rate in the domestic job market becomes lower; the unemployment rate for young adults in February was down 4.7% compared to the same month last year. This decreasing rate is the highest percent since 1999. A source from the office concluded it is because of the decreasing youth population and numerous job seekers in their twenties.
In addition, the unemployment rate for those in their late teens and twenties was also down 0.2% compared to the same month last year, but the office explained the phenomenon is because of growing job waivers. In the case of the job market in Busan, the unemployment rate in February was 4.2%, down 0.2% compared to the same month last year.
