Mt. Geumgang Tour Area to include Inner part of Mt. Geumgan

It was announced that the President of Hyundai Asan and North Korea agreed to conduct a joint inspection of the inner part of the Mt. Gumgan area to extend the tour zone between late next month and early April, and to announce the two sides' overall blueprint about it.

Hyundai Asan President , Yoon Man-joon, stayed in North Korea for three days in a bid to extend its Mt. Geumgang project and stated that upon returning to Seoul he would expedite the tour business with Pyongyang.

The president also confirmed that to expedite the business and attract investment from other countries, the two sides will finalize the comprehensive tour blueprint by the end of March or beginning of April after inspection around the Mt. Geumgang area.

Also Hyundai and Pyongyang agreed to pay $400,000 for North Korean victims of traffic accidents that occurred around Mt. Geumgang last year, which covers all compensation costs including their funerals.

He said, "Both sides reconfirmed reliabilities and business partnership as business partners, and we agreed to expedite this project including Gaesung industrial complex."
