Busan to be Targeted as a Major Outlet Market
It seems that mega goods distribution enterprises are to open their new outlets in Busan, and such trend will increase. Since the beginning of this year, national and local distribution companies have increased the number of their new outlets in Busan.
According to a source in the local distribution field, one of the distribution corporates, E-land, is to open its new ‘2001 Outlet’ in Jwadong, Haeundae for sales of a wide range of male and female outfits and miscellaneous goods, and the structure of the outlet is a 18-storied-building (6 stories underground and 12 stories aboveground).
In addition, it is expected that in the event one of the local department stores, Shinsehwa Department Store, is reopened, it is very possible to take a step to substitute its own department style into a brand new outlet mart in May. A source of Shinsehwa said, “We haven’t decided what type of outlet market it will be, but it is certain that Shinsehwa will be promoted as a mega outfit-centered outlet department where a number of outfit enterprises will take part.”
In particular, the competition in Busan distribution market will soar from the time the two ‘2001 Outlet’ and ‘Shinsehwa Department store’ will be opened. It has been known that E-land enterprise will aggressively target the Busan distribution market from this year. According to a source of outfit distribution field, another outlet store ‘Fashion County’ will be opened in the area of Sahar in Busan from September, where about 60 fashion brands will open their own brand stores in it.
It was estimated that one of the major outlets in Busan, Apple outlet, recorded a 50% sales increase compared to last year. Son Jin Sung of Apple Outlet stated, “I think, it is expected that outlet markets will consecutively try to build up a reputation to be equipped with well-known brands.”
