“We Welcome Snow”
The suppliers and the retailers for snow chains and other snow-related equipment enjoy the snow as their sales went up madly on February 6th.
Car centers and markets had to call their suppliers to obtain stocks for numerous customers who came early in the morning to purchase snow chains and other winter equipment.
According to the sales report of Mega Mart in Dongrae, 67 snow chains were sold only during the morning of the 6th, whereas they usually sell about 5 pieces a day. Costumers seem to prefer snow chains made of urethane that is at a reasonable price of 40,000 to 50,000 won.
The employees of Hanaro Mart at Guemgok-dong had to hasten obtaining extra stocks of snow related items on the morning of the 6th, which were not so popular except on the snowy days.
Moreover, the sales for pocket warmers, mittens and other seasonal items increased also, including snow chains and other equipment.
One of the employees of Mega Mart said, “We usually set the winter seasonal items aside in February, but as we had an extreme amount of snow in March last year so that we had to decide to keep the seasonal items in the store longer than the previous year.” He also added, “We plan to keep the winter seasonal items in the store until the end of this month.” By wideneye@
