Jobseekers Consider Company Atmosphere Important

It appears that jobseekers consider company atmosphere as the second priority next to their paycheck.

According to a survey conducted by Career from Sept. 20 till 25, 43.6% of the 1,945 job seekers said that they consider paycheck as the first priority, responding to the question, ¡®What is the most important in seeking a job?¡±

Results of the survey also show that 31.1% said that, as they seek a company, its company atmosphere influences their selection much. Therefore, when interviewed, they try to recognize the company atmosphere first.

A jobseeker that applied to a manufacturer said, ¡°I applied for the company with a great hope a few days ago, but it was disappointing that the interviewer, as well as the personnel officers, showed their authoritarianism before us.¡± ¡°Although offered employment, I won¡¯t work for the company.¡±

The survey further showed that 11.9% designate transportation as first; 5.7% company size; 5.1% long distance from home; 2.6% old office. Compared with male and female jobseekers, it showed that 47. 6% of male jobseekers consider paycheck as the first importance rather higher than 40.2% of females. Yet, females picked out company atmosphere as their first factor in selecting a company.
