Busan Citizens use Credit Cards for Health

According to one source, it is estimated that Busan citizens use their credit cards for health. And they use them when purchasing items, instead of cash. Economic experts say that this can be seen as a good phenomenon.

Another analysis, conducted by the Bank of Korea, has also shown this trend, as purchasing items with cash has declined 9.9%, compared to the last quarter of 2004, whereas using credit cards has increased up to 0.8%.

It seems that utilization of credit cards will continue to increase. The amount of credit card use by Busan citizens is reaching 3,340,000 won per capita, lower than the average amount for the nation.

A source said that with regards to the analysis by the Bank of Korea, it could be understood that the increase in the number of Busan citizens who possess cards is mainly due to the increase of credit cards that have reached 11,343,000.

According to a credit card company, it is revealed that Busan citizens possessed total of 6,598,000 credit cards by last June, indicating an increase of 2.2%.
