Koreans should love Hangŭl.

It is not just yesterday that the Korean language was neglected and grammatically misused. It is a serious situation that the Korean language is terribly distorted. The standards and orthography of Hangŭl are not kept; there is widespread misuse of foreign languages, abuse of coined words, vulgar language, and jargon. Some people impair the Korean language through TV, Internet and cell phones. Despite the fact that governmental departments should lead the people to love the Korean language, they frequently use Chinese characters and foreign languages. They maltreat the Korean language, but frequently use English and Chinese characters for slogans and administrative words.
As the Korean language is one of the most scientific languages in the world, the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) designated Hunminjeongeum, the Korean script, as a world cultural heritage. English linguist Samson and other distinguished scholars have praised Hangŭl as "one of the greatest intellectual achievements made by man." Some foreign people are really interested in the Korean language and learn it around the world. Among existing languages, the Korean writing system is the latest. Most languages cannot indicate the date of invention, nor the purpose, nor the principle and how to use it, but Hangŭl has them all. It is very unfortunate that some Koreans spoil the Korean language, despite its superiority.
As Hangŭl Proclamation Day is excluded from the list of national holidays, the Korean language as Korean cultural heritage is maltreated. If some members of the National Assembly think that Hangŭl Proclamation Day as "just another day off ", it is very far away from the love of Korean language and the right use of it. The Korean language is a cultural heritage containing the essence of Korean culture. During the upcoming National Assembly, they should designate Hangŭl Proclamation Day as a national holiday so that Koreans love the Korean language. It can be a measure to attract Koreans' love of their language.
The 9th of October is Hangŭl Proclamation Day, the 559th anniversary of Hunminjeongeum, the Korean script. It is expected that the campaign for love of the Korean language and alphabet will be conducted in the related areas. Koreans can be proud of the Korean alphabet, saying "Koreans use well and improve Hangŭl."
