Advance parties from 21 APEC countries have arrived
About 200 visit conference halls and examine procedures.

The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation conference begins approximately 40 days from now and 200 delegates of the advance parties from 21 APEC participant countries arrived in Busan on the 4th to inspect the venues and procedures.
The Preparatory Committee of APEC will discuss the agenda and other related matters with the advance parties about protocol, the protection and security office, administration, communication, lodging, publicity operations, and more.
The countries will be divided into two groups to visit BEXCO where the Senior Officials' Meeting and APEC Joint Ministerial Meeting will take place, the main conference hall, Nurimaru APEC House, airport and the event venues for spouses. On the 5th, they will visit Beomeosa Temple and Busan Museum where their spouses will also visit.
The delegation from Australia, who is the host country for APEC in 2007, will come and closely examine how Korean officials have prepared for this APEC.
About 110 delegates from the United States, Russia, Peru and other countries will arrive in Busan on the 6th and the 7th to visit the conference hall in advance and attend an anti-terrorist demonstration by the Protection and Security Office.
Some ambassadors are included among these advance parties and the United States will send a special delegation of 30 people from the White House to inspect the conference hall and other facilities.
The APEC Preparatory Committee said, "This is different from the first advance parties in July when construction was still underway: these parties actually see and inspect the finished venues. We will take this opportunity to make sure everything runs smoothly before the commencement of APEC in November."
